Was in my shed today and I saw a few old clubs.
I took out the driver and it was a callaway great big bertha I got around 4-5 years back.
What struck me was how small the head was.
It was just bigger than a 3 wood!
I took a few swings with it and it feels great much better than the big clunky LV4 I've got right now.
Havn't gotten down to the range yet but I think I'll be impressed.
It's 11* but has a harrison stiff shaft so I think it'll cancel out the loft a bit.

It's amazing the difference in clubhead sizes over the past few years.

Yeah, it is pretty crazy how the 460cc has taken over. I have that same driver, made in 2004 if I am not mistaken. You can buy them on Callaway Preowned I am pretty sure. I loved that driver and kept it when I bought a new driver. That FTi is out of the bag now too after getting the FT-Tour the other week. Best driver I have owned. But like you, I have a great appreciation for the smaller drivers too. I kept the Big Bertha and very well may use it at some point in the future.

I used to play it too and ask myself if I will not come back to.

I play a Bridgestone J33P (375cc) but I feel the head is sometimes too big when I want to shape the ball. Seems to be the last quite small head available on the market but even with this driver, I really have to accentuate the swing to give spin to the ball. I can't play bigger heads.

No such problems with small heads. You swing the club easily. Shaft is shorter and I can give as much spin as I want...

My only problem with the LV4 is it goes TOO straight.
I can't hit a draw with it.
The ball can only do a slight draw (starts off right but doesn't manage to come back in fully)
I think if I switch to the cally it'll help me hit more fairways and will go a bit further than my 3 wood.

no point in having a 230-250 drive that ends up out of bounds or in the rough.
