hey, thought I would share this. Pickup18 (a group that will be running an amateur tour next year) is having a little event next Tuesday at 11:30. They are playing a course called Carolina Lakes just across the border in Fort Mill, SC. If anyone is interested click on the pickup18 link in my sig. I've been wanting to play in some of the outings but the end of this past year has been busy for me. I'm still not sure I can do this one until I get my business done on Monday. If there are still spots available I might do it if I'm free and the weather is tolerable. This cold snap is killing me.

If you haven't played Carolina Lakes yet it's a pretty amazing course. I would say it's every bit as good as Skybrook with better conditions... of course in the winter that's all relative. Get your stuff done and come on out... if you do end up going let me know so I know who to look for. This weather IS absurd... I moved down here to get away from the cold, but it seems to have followed me. Tuesday should be much more seasonable at least.

      First round at Quail Ridge: 47 + 47 = 94 *Note: It was 25+ mph winds with gust in the 35+ mph. It was also around 58 degrees. I felt like I was out in Oregon. The greens were very firm.  Driver was decent. It didn't cause me an issues.  Irons were the biggest issue. Just low point control was lacking. Mostly on the chunky side. Also, my irons were routinely 20-30 yards shorter than normal. Even on holes with a cross wind, the ball was just dying. We played an extra 9 holes after the first 18, and the wind died down by then. I stepped into a 9 iron, and it came up 15 yards short. I have no clue what is going on. I should not be hitting 9 irons 140 yards when I am hitting my driver 300 to 310 yards.  Warmup didn't give me much confidence. I just kept shanking every other iron shot. I didn't shank an iron during the round. I just felt all out of sorts today. Coordinate felt off.  yea, I have no idea if I am purposely slowing down my swing to feel my downswing piece. Again, I hit a decent 9 iron and lost 15 yards of carry. I hope this is just an off day.

      Day 565 - 2026-04-19 Wanted to get home to do some spring cleaning type stuff, so I practiced for about seven or eight minutes and got my butt home. Just backswing stuff, mostly, with freezers and a little downswing feel. Liking the new big mirror I have.

      Day 22: played 18. Shot okay - 80 - but long game was bad. Saved by some good putting and short game.
