My 905R face just cracked last week. It wasn't new, obviously (I bought it used in ebay about a year ago), but I really liked it. It wasn't a forgiving club (I'd hit a couple of hooks per round, on average), but the sound and the feedback was awesome. I really liked the sensation of a well struck swing, and when that sensation was accompanied by a slight draw, the ball flied forever.
Anyway, I knew I needed a new driver (one more suited to my abilities), but I hadn't find any that felt as good as many (and I didn't have a lot of money to spend). So after mine broke, I had to go to my local golf shop and try what was available.
Sadly, the bad economy has affected them apparently, because they didn't have a lot of options. I was looking to spend about $200, and the options I had was a Nike DyMo STR8-FIT, Callaway Diablo and a square Callaway Tour (i don't remeber the model).
The Diablo is an ugly driver (for me, at least); the head is curved and big, so I basically stop considering it based on the looks. My options were the Nike and the square Callaway. I liked the Callaway, it had a deep face and a fade bias, and in the simulator I was hitting it decently; the looks were very good, even when I don't like square headed drivers. The Nike is adjustable, round head and it didn't sound as bad as the older Nikes I tried in the past (SuMo); as a matter of fact, it sounded almost good in the store.
At the end, I bought the Nike because the guy that was helping me told me that the Callaway was too straight, and I would have a hard time trying to shape shots (I like to play with the shape of my shots; most of the time I am not successful, but eventually I will be ). Also I liked that the head was adjustable; even when I was hitting similar shots in the simulator with both, I wasn't sure about the performance in the outdoors, and with the Nike, at least I have a way to adjust.
In resume, I think I did a good selection. I opened the face to the max (2* open, -2* loft), and I am hitting the ball long and straight. I can still get an horrible hook or a very high banana slice on command, so workability apparently is still there, and it seems a little more forgiving than my Titleist. The only thing I really miss is the sound of My 905R; when the DyMo is hit in the sweet spot, the sound is not too bad, still a clank, but muted, even powerful. On to so good shots, the first feedback is a load clank, not as loud and disturbing like some other drivers, but still a clank.
I have played a couple of rounds with the Nike, and yesterday I reached greens and green bunkers that I had never reached in the past, so I am sure I can get used to the noise .

If I were you, I'd call Titleist and explain your situation, they may rectify it. I know for a fact Taylormade or Callaway would send you a new, current model driver regardless of what the age of yours is. Call them, it can't hurt.

I am not the original owner (I bought in eBay, used), do you think they will repair it? I will give it a try, thank you!

There is no repairing it, but they may replace it. If not, I suggest you stick to companies like Taylormade, Callaway and GEEK, their customer service is 2nd to none.

As long as it's original with the shaft they will...no doubt.

I dented a Taylor Made R7 on the face, and I reshafted it before the dent. Gave me a little grief about the reshaft but they replaced it with a new SuperQuad. Even though I don't really like Taylor Made Drivers i have nothing but much respect for the customer service.

I found this information in Titleist's web site:
======================
QUESTION
The face of my Titleist Wood cracked. Can it be repaired?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
While cracked faces are not reparable, we can offer to re-head your club with the same or a newer model clubhead.

If the club is still covered under the factory warranty period, we will be happy to replace the head at no charge. If the club is older and not under warranty, we can still offer to re-head it for a fee.

If you are interested in having this work performed, please take your club to any local Titleist or Cobra dealer. They can return the club to us to be repaired, as well as provide pricing and availability information if necessary.

The 3 I mentioned are soooooo much better. If this is their idea of good customer service they need to look at some of their competitors. Just another reason why I think Titleist is way over rated, make sure you call them.
