old persimmon woods.

i went to play @ hawaii country club yesterday and in the proshop were a bunch of those old actual wood woods. they were in a bin for $5 each. i bought a few and they were quite fun to hit. i didnt hit them very well but one of them looked a lot like a hybrid. it was quite interesting.

I play with a guy at work who will only hit a persimmon head driver or wood (he uses Louisville golf drivers) and puts graphite shafts in them. He is a very long hitter but those things are not forgiving. I try to get him to hit my G5 and he won't do it. I think he's afraid he'll be tempted to use modern equipment. He even uses a persimmon putter!!
