Later on in the broadcast, there's an older gentleman that shows up with Breed that appears as though he's KILLING it with the driver. Breed highlights how he has released the club by showing hig hands after impact (right hand has turned over the left) and advises everyone to copy that.

Breed is like most (90%?) of instructors (golf or otherwise) out there- baseball hitting/pitching coaches (remember Walt Hriniak's swing down on the ball?), music teachers, and even classroom teachers. They know what works for them (or think they do) so teach that method/system. Can't imagaine them doing otherwise.

Yeah, I saw that. The guy hit a nice push draw because he got his weight forward pretty well. Virtually ALL of his release, like Lucas Glover's, is well after the balls's gone.

I agree with your second paragraph too. Bit more to it (in my mind) than that, but I think I said it somewhere about refunds.
