Just joined my first golf membership and i'm pretty excited. Got a deal since i signed up early and get free cart fees also for the year. The membership includes two different courses near me. For all those people that have membership, does it get old playing the same course over and over again?

I prefer to play the same course(s) instead of always playing a new one all the time. You get to know the little details of each hole as well as the tricks that keep you out of trouble. If the course does start to feel "old", switch the teebox you play from; it'll make the course play completely different.

No. At least for me, if it's an interesting course it does not get old.

I've never played this course before but its really nice. Its a private course so i'm thinking it shouldnt be crowded either

Been playing the same course for about a year now and still loving it. Still haven't got all the minor in and outs figured out but I think that's part of the fun.

Congrats trog2233! I've considered getting a membership but never have. I am retired military so I can get a membership on the local military base for around $800 a year. They have two courses....but I guess I like variety. But I'm sure if I played the same course all the time I could improve my scores.

When I first joined the country club I'm at now, I was a little hesitant due to the same concern you have.

However, I can tell you I am not tired of playing the course at all. Mine is a private, decently challenging course. In my area, it's easily the second best course out here.

I love that I typically play in under 4 hours (95% of the time). I love that they have noon games on the weekends and it is set up to where just about anyone can play (so long as your handicap keeps you around 95 you can play as an E player), along with teh Thursday night scrambles. After work in the summer, I may be one of probably 20 people on the entire course. Lots of tournaments too.

They have great food out there too and it's nice having everyone know your name and anticipate what you might need. The professionalism by the staff is top notch.

I have a great time and I think you will too. The only thing I'd change is I wish I did have two courses to choose from. I still LOVE playing on my course, but I do like to switch it every now and then. Truth be told, when I go play some of the public courses around town now, I score a lot better, so I know the tougher golf course is making me a better golfer.

EDIT: Forgot the most important thing. CONGRATS on getting your membership.
