This is the best golf-related game besides real golf ever.

Requirements:

* Old Putter
* Ball
* Parking lot (Preferrably empty)
* A sturdy cup

Rules: Make up hole locations, could be anywhere, and see how many strokes it takes to hit the cup. It seems easy, but it's not. It's best played with three people. Preferrably only play 9 holes.

Most hole-in-ones in a round: 2
Lowest score ever shot: 31
Highest score ever shot: 58

Fun Rating (Out of 10) = 9.2

this is truly the best game outside of golf.... as a co-founder and holder of the most hole in ones in a round record and co-leader for most wins in this game, i recommend it to everyone who loves golf but their golf course is closed at times...

p.s. game is better played if you have obstacles and different elevated spots

we used to do something like this in the neighborhood with old wedges and wiffle balls...except u had to hit mailboxes.

This game we play could pose a problem to the windows and glass doors at the clubhouse, because we put the cup close to it, and the cars parked around. Somehow the only thing we've ever hit is our own cars... Figure that one out.

nah we've hit Howards truck before.

Howard's a proud ambassador, and his truck is in direct line to the cup for Alex 92% of the time.

We are the two most logical fans of either team alive in this state. It is what it is.

Ha. I haven't brained my bama fan playing partner with my SW yet. :) So there are a few of us around.

    • I am semi-loyal. Usually buy four dozen of one ball and only play that until out and then determine whether to continue or try another one. Since starting my semi-loyal path to success, I've been playing the below, not in order: ProV1 ProV1x ProV1x left dash AVX Bridgestone BXS Srixon Z-star XV I am not sure if it has helped anything, but it gives a bit of confidence knowing that it at least is not the ball (while using the same one) that gives different results so one thing less to mind about I guess. On the level that I am, not sure whether it makes much difference but will continue since I have to play something so might as well go with the same ball for a number of rounds.
    • Will not do it by myself, going to the pro shop I usually use after Cristmas for input and actually doing the changes, if any, but wanted to get some thoughts on whether this was worthwhile out of curiosity.
    • In terms of ball striking, not really. Ball striking being how good you are at hitting the center of the clubface with the swing path you want and the loft you want to present at impact.  In terms of getting better launch conditions for the current swing you have, it is debatable.  It depends on how you swing and what your current launch conditions are at. These are fine tuning mechanisms not significant changes. They might not even be the correct fine tuning you need. I would go spend the $100 to $150 dollars in getting a club fitting over potentially wasting money on changes that ChatGPT gave you.  New grips are important. Yes, it can affect swing weight, but it is personal preference. Swing weight is just one component.  Overall weight effects the feel. The type of golf shaft effects the feel of the club in the swing. Swing weight effects the feel. You can add so much extra weight to get the swing weight correct and it will feel completely different because the total weight went up. Imagine swinging a 5lb stick versus a 15lb stick. They could be balanced the same (swing weight), but one will take substantially more effort to move.  I would almost say swing weight is an old school way of fitting clubs. Now, with launch monitors, you could just fit the golfer. You could have two golfers with the same swing speed that want completely different swing weight. It is just personal preference. You can only tell that by swinging a golf club.
    • Thanks for the comments. I fully understand that these changes won't make any big difference compared to getting a flawless swing but looking to give myself the best chance of success at where I am and hopefully lessons will improve the swing along the way. Can these changes make minor improvements to ball striking and misses then that's fine. From what I understood about changing the grips, which is to avoid them slipping in warm and humid conditions, is that it will affect the swing weight since midsize are heavier than regular and so therefore adding weight to the club head would be required to avoid a change of feel in the club compared to before?
    • I think part of it is there hasn't been enough conclusive studies specific to golf regarding block studies. Maybe the full swing, you can't study it because it is too complicated and to some degree it will fall into variable or random.
