Dude, my neck is killing me, but I'll try to help...lol.

1) You're rolling your hands on the takeaway and not keeping the left arm connected. Put a glove or headcover under your left armpit to stay connected.
2) Staying connected will also prevent the "chicken wing" on the follow thru and give you a better release (the irons video shows your left arm also disconnected in the follow thru) .
3) On the downswing, you're swinging "over-the-top" as the club shaft is just above your right shoulder. You want to get that below the right shoulder to avoid any fades, slices or the dreadful shank.
4) Take some lessons because I had similar issues years ago and it helped me tremendously!!

Good luck!

try to stay more outside on the takeaway. Your club immideately crosses your body which is not a good sign. Try to copy some pga pros takeaways by watching them on tv and looking at your swing in a mirror or something. Bad habbits are tough to get rid of. Good luck!

o my goodness you guys are the same...you, too, are flat-footed at impact. Just being in this position stresses your body's natural ability to keep your hands ahead of the ball. You will consistantly hit more fat and thin shots in this position than in any other. You are handicapping yourself and need instruction asap. Gary Player walk=thru drills will rid you of the problem...

be forewarned of these posters and their mathmatical sterotypical answers, (obviously quoted elsewhere). Unless it can be explained to you in layan's terms, do not listen...Seek Professional instruction.

    • I do not follow amateur or Korn Ferry tour but this story might get me to pay attention. At age 15 to be as accomplished as he is makes me think we may be seeing a future star.  A story of him breaking out may help reinvigorate golf viewership. Miles Russell has a hot start, cools off but finishes with a 68 in first Korn Ferry event Miles Russell, a 15-year-old Jacksonville Beach resident, made his Korn Ferry Tour debut on...
    • Day 8: Indoor backswing work, mostly rehearsals of takeaway. Hit some balls wtih 6-iron working on adding flow, but not too Much which I tend to do, swaying too far away from target.
    • Day 55: 4/18/2024 Got to the range again today. Planned to do my priority pieces and then hit targets with irons. But after my priority pieces I hit a few drives and tugged them all hard left. .... Uh... oh boy.  So, I spent about a half hour trying to hit targets at the range with my driver.
    • Day 126 (18 Apr 24) - Trail arm only drill with the LW…focused on letting the club drop, engaging the bounce and letting the club pop the ball up….wrapped up by repeating drill with both hands on the club…
    • OPPs, I guess I have been doing the drill incorrectly, just ignore this.  But as they say, mistakes are learning opportunities. Let’s hope I can learn from mine.
