...tried the R9 3 wood shaft in their R9 driver? Would it be possible or could it cause damage to the shaft? Just curious how it would play with it being about 10g heavier and 2.25" shorter. Before you ask, yes, I have had a lot of time on my hands today!

I have to admit, this question has me curious, also. Haven't thought of it before, but it seems like it might be a good idea to try.

In my bag:
Taylormade SLDR 430 10.5 degree driver

Cobra sz hyper steel 3 wood
A7 19 degree hybrid
Taylormade 2008 TP irons 4 through pw

Mizuno JPX 52, 56, 60 degree wedges

White hot XG #9 putter

I finally got around to trying this today. The driver with the 3 wood shaft was not much different, maybe a little shorter in distance but no more accurate (I did only hit a few so didn't get used to it properly). The big difference was putting the driver shaft in my 3 wood! Wow, the ball just soared through the air, it was as long as my drives and as straight as an arrow too. It wasn't easy to hit off the deck though. I'm really tempted to try this in a round very soon.
