PGA professional instructors in Dallas area?

Anyone recommend a good instructor to get lessons from in the Dallas area that reasonably affordable? I'm looking to get started and following a lot of people's advice, would like to start off with a lesson. One thing I'd like to get out of this is for the pro to be able to give me some advice that will help me pick out a decent set of clubs to start out with. I'm not looking to spend a ton (on either the lessons or the clubs), but am thinking that it might be good to at least start off with clubs that feel right and "fit" me and my abilities. Anyone know of any instructors they'd recommend? Do I need to already have clubs to go to the lesson, or is it ok for me not to in hopes of him advising me on some types that I could look at? I was recently seriously considering purchasing some Cleveland CG Gold's (slightly used) from someone, but want to try and feel them (and others first). Sorry if this is a bunch of rambling. Any help is appreciated.

I would recommend you call The Golf Station in Euless. The owner is a former Nationwide Tour player and the other teacher there has been a PGA member since about 1980 or so.

You might try Golf Galaxy. GG has stores in Plano, Dallas, Arlington, and Lewisville. The stores have PGA teaching pros on staff, and fulltime staff members often have formal club-fitting training.

GG also sells boxed sets (matching clubs and a bag for beginners) and used clubs. Make sure you get a basic fitting - don't want clubs to be too long or short for your build, or have shafts which are wrong flex for you.
