I am playing in a 4 club stroke play tourny next week, and I was wondering if anyone had any advice on club selection, what type of factors i should think about when selecting clubs.

A little bit on the course, it is a desert course, so anything not in the fairway you are playing from the rock hard and stoney sand. It is just over 7000 yrds from the tips. There is an island green par 3 that is 155-175.

Putter counts as one of the 4 clubs if you choose to use it. I can putt pretty good with a 3 wood or my wedge.

Never played one, but I would personally go with 3-wood, 6-iron, pw, putter. I might substitute 7 for 6, but would have to think about it.

At 7000 yards, here are my thoughts.....240+ club, 190-200 club, 150 club, and a 52 degree.....I wouldn't waste a club on a putter IMHO, you can putt with a 4 iron or a 52......last year played a 3 club round with a 3 iron, 7 iron, and 52.....putted well with the 3 iron, and I should have chosen an 8 iron over the 7.....

Good luck, should be fun, post up results after you play...
