i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of a driver for a lefty with a handicap of 36 if you do that would be great

We need a lot more information than "36 handicap" and "left-handed" to help you here... Go to a clubfitter. They'll ask you the appropriate questions.

A good starter driver is one of the HL (high loft) models in the 13.9 to 14 range with an "A" shaft which is more flexible than regular and also called a senior or amateur shaft. Calloway makes a HL, as does Ping in their lines hopefully, they do lefties. Any club maker can get a HL head and a shaft to fit you which might also be a tad shorter, say 44 or 44.5, to help you get the ball on the clubface in the sweet area.

I don't know if it's safe to make these assumptions. He might be a 36 handicap with 120 mph clubhead speed, if that's the case a senior shaft could compound the issue. Without addtional information it would be irresponsible to advise someone in this manner.

At this point, the only advice anyone could give is:

My advice stands. If he has 120MPH swingspeed that will be apparent when he swings the club and the seller will make another suggestion.

And that would be every bit as apparent if he takes your advice and makes a purchase online?

People have simply stated here that if he provide more infomation, they might be more able to help him narrow down his selection. They elected not to make broad generalizations as they would rather provide him with information he can act on.
