Anyone out there heard of left handed counterfeits?

My guess is they wouldnt bother, much like most golf companies dont bother making clubs available in left hand, mizuno I'm looking in your direction, disgrace that not one club they released this year is available in left hand.

I've had no problems or heard of any, just a thought.

Yeah there is def left handed counterfeit clubs floating around. I don't buy much off of ebay so I haven't bought one but if you go on ebay they are pretty easy to spot.

My guess is if you see a left handed set of players irons or blades, stay away if possible. I played a round with a guy last year who looked at my iron set and made a comment about how annoyed he was that they don't make a lefty model in almost anything high-end unless you are a tour pro. He also mentioned that he even called taylormade about it once and joked about how if he were Mike Weir that they'd make them in a heartbeat...to which the customer service guy replied "and you are not Mike Weir." Its likely a cost effectiveness thing, but I could see a large counterfeit market for left handed players sets merely because people want them, and don't realize they aren't generally available to the public. Another guy I talked to at a pro shop in Illinois said that sometimes the counterfeits are almost indistinguishable from the real thing because in eastern asia they are getting that good. He had mentioned that someone bought a set of decent Pings and brought them in to see if they were real (since they even had a serial number on the hosel of one of the irons [TM puts theirs generally on the hosel of the 7 iron now]) and it turned out ping didn't even have that serial number in the database or that it was the wrong amount of digits or something. Either way the counterfeiters are very good nowadays and understand there is a market for their wares, so if you see a set that seems too good to be true, check the manufacturers website to see if the set is even available in lefty.

The guy you were playing with might want to come look in my basement if he thinks you can't find players irons in lefty. I've never had a problem finding any irons through a store or pro shop as for the taylormade ordeal I believe they didn't make the rac tp in left hand. Basically the saying "if it's too good to be true it probably is" holds true when buying golf clubs.

MP-68 and MP-52 are available in lefty. So are MP-57, mp-32, mx-100, mx-200 . . .

Of course there are fake lefty clubs out there.

I know the mp68 and 52s are in left handed, I've got a set of mp-60s and looking to get a new set, the 3 sets I'm keen on are the 62, 58 and 300, all not in left handed, same as the new 630 woods.

I've bought every club in my bag from ebay, no probems, I was just throwing it out there to see if criminals are interested in the lety market, like I said I thought if major companies dont bother I thought the fakers would as well. Thanks for the replies.
