I play 2-3 rounds a week with one or two range sessions. Any idea of how often I should replace them?

Just replace them when they are worn out. Easiest way for me to tell is when I hit a shot that should spin and back up or not move at all, and it bounces forward and doesn't stop. They should last at least 2 or 3 seasons depending on how much you use them. If you hit a lot of balls with them, especially out of the sand, they won't last as long. Just one of those things -- you'll know when you know.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

3 years is what the head pro at my store says before the grooves wear out.
Don´t hit range balls with wedges, those rocks don´t help at all.

If you think your wedges are getting close to needing to be replaced, this year would be ideal to replace them. December 31, 2010 is the last day manufacturers can sell wedges with the old grooves. Just a thought. Check out this link for more info: http://www.yearofthewedge.com/
