I highly suggest you hit some mp demos. I thought they would be over my head but I plan to decide on a set soon. As I said in my thread, the 52s and 58s were great for me even with my higher handicap.

which is more forgiving the MP52s or MP58s...now considering MP series...decisions decisions...MX300s were pretty sweet...never hit a MP series though...and from what I read the MX300 is a fantastic blend of GI and PI

Supposedly the smaller the number in the MP line the more forgiving the club. Not sure if that's true or not but it seems to be the case. I have tried all of the clubs in the MP line and the 52's and 58's were at the top of the list. Both VERY nice. If I were you I would look at the 52's. you can also do a mixed bag of 52 and 58. A lot of people do this. I opted for the 57's. They are half a year older but VERY sweet. A good blend of the 2. You can find a brand new set for $500 and under now......one of the best bargains going...but obviously I'm biased. My best recommendation is to try all of them. Those 300's are very nice so make sure you compare the MP to the MX. The MP is a different animal.....ie, less loft, thinner topline and thinner sole.

BTW...some may say that a 16HC should not play MP's......ignore them....they probably are not a 16 HC and have not played an MP. The 52 is FINE for a 16. I'm a 12 now and can't imagine playing those big clunky GI clubs......

cool I'll look into demoing the 52s and 58s this weekend but try to not get caught up in it all because the mx300s were still pretty sweet...does dicks carry mizunos and have the fitting equipment/shaft optimizer?

I think you can get Mizuno at Dicks but they special order it maybe....not sure if they carry them at their stores. $49 is a good price to get fitted.

Another option would be to go maybe 7i, 6i, 5i, 4i with the 300's and pw, 9i,8i maybe 7i with the MP.... there is a difference in lofts though..... Something to think about....

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
