I went to a Demo Day at a local military base on Saturday. I hit the all the major manufacture drivers....ping, Cobra, Callaway, Titliest, Taylormade and Cleveland.

After hitting all the the clubs I felt like I hit the Cobra S2 & Nike Machspeed better than the others. I went with the Machspeed & only paid $194. I traded-in my Nike Sumo 5900 & walked away on paying $150 so I think I got a good deal.

Of you guys that have the the Nike Machspeed or have tested it.....what feedback would you say about it?

I hit both today actually. I like the Machspeed and the VR. Like you, I really like the Cobra S2 too.
The Machspeed was more forgiving off the face, but I tend to draw it a bit too much. I preferred the VR over the mach just because I was able to fade it more consistently. But if I got the str8fit mach I probably could open up the face a bit and it too would give me the fade I try to hit.

For that price!! You couldn't go wrong with that! That's similar to how I got my Dymo2 str8fit. I paid only $120 and couldn't resist.

I know there are drivers with a pre set draw to eliminate a slice. Can I do the same thing with the str8-t fit system?

You can close the face with the Str8-Fit. Might not

eliminate a slice, but should help. And when your swing gets better you can switch the club to neutral or open if need be.

So it doesnt do the same as the Taylormade Burner Draw?

The Machspeed has a total of 8 settings and 3 of them are draw bias.

Hit the Mach at the local shop the other day. I used to have the Nike Sumo Sq2. I was very impressed by the less obnoxious head on the mach. Very much more subtle than the previous Nike square headed driver. I also liked the way the club felt when I hit it. One thing I was disappointed in, however, was that it seems Nike has not managed to get rid of the old "aluminum baseball bat" sound that was present in the Sumo Sq2. It's not quite as loud with the Mach, but it's definitely still there. Other than that I felt like it was a very nice club.

    • Day 36: back to some mirror work tonight. Need a bit more forearm roll in my feels to help with the shallowing.
    • _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.
    • Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.
    • I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
    • I haven't been able to practice like I wanted and won't for the next week.  1. The weather sucks in Ohio this year. I have been mostly inside hitting foam balls. Just kind of my basic stuff.  2. I woke up last Saturday with a left side rib muscle on fire. If I turned or leaned a certain way it would spasm that almost buckled my knees. I have been taking a break to let that settle. I don't want to get a long term injury. I think I pinched a nerve or just aggravated a muscles.   3. I am going on a mini-vacation to Florida (screw you Ohio weather) with a friend, and rolling that into a work conference I have next week. I will be with out my clubs for a week.  I will be back next in two Fridays to hit the ground running with some warmer temps and better weather in Ohio, hopefully. I would really like to get more out on the course and the range.
