Someone has a set of these for sale locally, just curious if they are worthy of checking out. Anyone ever played a set of them?

This is the best pic they had of the backs, can't really get a good look of them in order to figure out which set they are exactly.

lol, they look almost exactly like my Sam Snead irons.

Those iron's look like the "new" model so they're from the 70's. How much for them? They'd be great training clubs.

well yeah they'd be great as training clubs at that handicap. i know because i started out with lynx master model blades and still take them to the range once in a while when i fell sumthing funny in my swing.

I definitely wouldn't be buying them to replace my G5's (which I haven't hit yet). I'd just be using them to work on my swing/ball striking. They are listed for $80 at the moment though I would definitely haggle.

The Fluid Feels were hot on the tour in their day. If the grooves are clean, I would get them. Training clubs? I do not know about that, they are not beginners clubs. You will know when you hit off center with them. Ever heard of the "Hogan Sting"? I guess they will "train" you to hit the sweet spot. When you do hit the sweet spot, they are great clubs and very workable. Fluid Feels were my first set of clubs, but put them away until I learned a good swing. I still have them, and will not sell them. I currently use the WS Goose-Neck, another good forged iron.

thats the point. to train u to hit the sweet spot. thats what we meant by "training" clbs. Not clubs that get started to play golf. Bt clubs which expose the flaws and over a period of time indicate when u've corrected them.

Yep, I'd probably not play these on an actual course for a long, long time. They would just be a cheap set of less forgiving clubs to help me improve my ball striking so that one day I might be able to use a set of forged blades as my main clubs without pissing off everyone on the course behind me. :)

These are amazing irons. Period. End of story. I just bagged a set this year. Playing my best golf in 30 years. Less loft, flatter lie angles. Means I can power through the ball without a hook. Simply amazing feel. Straaaaaaight ball flight. I cut the fairway in half off the tee, throw darts at the middle of the green. Isn't that all you need from an iron?????

That brings back memories. I had a set of Wilson Staff irons over 40 years ago. They had Dyna-Step shafts and leather reminder grips (now illegal). Great clubs in their day but I wouldn't want to go back to playing them again.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
