Just got a new Taylormade Burner 3 wood, stiff shaft and im producing a fairly noticable cut.
My old steel shaft 3 wood used to give me a nice draw when i was swinging well.
Do you think the shaft is causing this, and why??

I think a slightly stiffer shaft and possibly a slightly longer shaft could make it a little harder to square the face.

You might not have the swing speed 95mph+ for a stiff shaft..... if not, then it could be open face or coming over the top.
In my Callaway Warbird stand bag:
Ping G15 10.5* Graphite Design YS-6+ S
Ping G15 4W 17* Aldila Serrano S
Adams IDEA A7 19* UST Mamiya AXIVcore S
TM 2009 Burners 4-PW / Titleist SM Vokeys 50, 56 & 62 / TM Rossa Daytona 1 Ghost / Titleist Pro V1

I measured it against my old 3 wood, and the taylormade one is actually shorter by half inch. I got fitted a stiff shaft on my driver and have no trouble with that, so i assumed 3 wood would be the same. I'll get my camera out tonight and see if im coming over the top in trying to nail it.

In regards to swing speed i assume the stiff shaft means the head wont release as quick as the regular shaft?

Forgot my camera damn it, however I alternated shots today between new and old 3 wood. The old 3 wood i was producing a consistent straight-draw pretty happy with it. With the new 3 wood I managed to draw 1 shot out of about 15. It hit in between the center and the toe and started right and curved back, contact felt ordinary too. The other 14 strokes all started straight and then sliced away, by slice i mean a good 20-30 meters of left to right movement. Fairly certain i have the wrong flex. As its a 2 hour drive to a decent golf store to get measured, where can i find swing speeds of tour players and compare the speeds. I guess Tiger would be well over 120mph???

Give it some more time. Sometimes I've had this problem with new clubs til I've "broken them in" so to speak.

If it's comparable it just may be you getting used to your new club.

Im gonna stick at it, more practice before i use it in comp though. I realised after i wasnt using my usual pre shot routine, checking grip properly etc. maybe a bit rushed. So much to think about before a swing lol
