I recently had my clubs re-shafted and noticed today there is some black "stains" on the hosel. I can't seem to get them off with a cloth or by washing them. Is this possible burn marks from heating up the hosel to get the old shaft out??

Looks like it may be Epxoy Resin or what ever they glued the shafts in with? mixed with a bit of oily hand? try getting it off with one of those dish scrubbers (not sure if you have them in the US) the ones that have a sponge on one side and a light scourer on the other, if not take them back dude...

mr.clean magic eraser would work pretty well on that, iv used it to get various marks off my clubs that other cloths and sponges couldn't remove.

The Clubmaker did not do a good job on cleaning the hosel. Those are Epoxy used to glue the shaft.

What you can do is to heat the black stain on the hosel using a small torch then clean it up using Car Wax.... I hope that will do the job.

finger print in the epoxy. Will not effect play, but doesn't look nice. Take it back, he should remove the shaft, clean it up and reset the shaft for you.

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water
