Finally was able to get my first round of the season in, and use my new-to-me irons. My driving was 50/50 and putting on the freshly uncovered greens was not all that good, but wow, these irons are magnificent. I had currently using Callie BB 04's and had been struggling with them all last season and thought maybe I was going to be in over my head with the Titleists. One bad iron shot for the day.....I was astounded, but the shot on hole 9 still has me smiling. Wicked slice off the tee with the driver (413yd hole). I put it clear across the fairway of the parallel number one. I would have been just behind the 200 yard marker if I was on my own fairway, ha ha. Five ironed it over the row of poplars to come to a stop about 15 yards from the pin, just in front of the green. My best iron shot ever with anything longer than a six, ever.....

I surely hope the rest of the season is going to be as exciting.

Congrats to you for taking the risk and it working out. Sounds like you're gonna have a breakthrough year. Best thing you have going for you is confidence, that alone has to save you a couple strokes just for positive thinking.

Well, I have had more time to get a little more intimate with these Titleists and all I can say is wow! I can hit the 3i much better and much more flush than I could hit the old bertha 5i and maybe even the 6i. My misses so far have mostly been thins and fats with the odd toe (still working on ball placement), and the club really lets you know it too. Misses with the berthas were pretty much always a hook, and I played to compensate for that, which I had never felt comfortable with. I don't know if it is the club or my swing is evolving, but my natural draw with the berthas has turned into a straight/slight fade with the titleists, and I am very happy with that. It is also completely possible that I am delusional as I never really felt comfortable with the uniflex shafts and the stiffs in the 755's allow me to swing more naturally, or I could be blowing smoke......whatever it is, it seems to be working.
