If you have a tip that worked well for you and is something you always "come back" to or continually rely on, please share....Here is one that has worked great for me.

Short Putts : I read this in one of the golf rags -- if you are having trouble with four foot putts, go to the putting range and hit a couple of one foot "tap in" putts....then, move back to three or four foot range and use the same "tap in" stroke...you will be amazed how far your "tap-in" stroke actually goes (mine about 5 feet on decent greens), and how straight and on-line they stay......I have been lights out from 5 feet in since I started using this method (my short putt stroke had obviously gotten to long, which just incorporates more chance for operator error).

"Getting paired with you is the equivalent to a two-stroke penalty to your playing competitors"  -- Sean O'Hair to Rory Sabbatini (Zurich Classic, 2011)

When you practice putting, NEVER practice putting to a hole in which you have NO CHANCE of making the majority of your putts attempted.

Practicing two to four footers is far more helpful for your mind vs. lagging 50 footers.

1.) Control chipping distance with the length of your backswing, keep all downswings equal (more or less) in terms of effort. Tempo tempo tempo.

2.) You'll generally be OK if you hit most chips 10% longer than you think you really need to.

3.) Don't forget that golf is a sport. Hitting the ball should always be an athletic move so keep in mind that swinging freely is more important than swinging 'well'.

4.) When in doubt, play the longer club.
