A few spots is nothing to worry about. Wait til you wear a spot in the club you practice with most. It should just rub off when you clean them. I have a ground down 58 and it gets decent rust on the sole but I just clean with a scouring pad and it comes right off. Even the face has some sand damage but at best it gets a soft gold tinge, not really rust. WD40 is a bad idea. You dont really need that all over your hands when you pull your clubs from the bag regardless of how little you might use. Keep them clean, keep them in a dry place and you will minimize it.
