Tipping Aldila DVS for XLS woods

I've just purchased 2 DVS-65 R shafts for my hibore xls woods. I'm not too fond of the low kickpoint on the stock fit-on gold stiff, plus i think they must be damages as they play quite a bit more flexible than when i first bought them.

My driver SS is around 105, my 3 wood SS around 98-99. I bought the DVS shaft as regular with the intention of tipping them to firm; I'm always a stiff in Driver. Anyone have experience with tipping Aldila? I have an NV-R in a titleist 904 that is tipped an extra 1/2 inch, I like the feel and distance, but the launch is too low.

Do you think I should tip 1/2" (so 1.5) over standard or full inch?

As I suspected, they are a butt trim only shaft and not meant to be tip trimmed. A lot of the "VS" Aldila shafts are butt trim only.

Edit: Also meant to add... the "65" series Aldila shafts are OEM versions of the "60" series shafts. Trimming is the same as the aftermarket version. The OEM versions tend to play a little softer than the aftermarket versions. There's nothing wrong with them, they are quality shafts -- I play a VS Proto 65S in a couple of my drivers and hit them great. I like them because the "S" is in-between what most people would call Regular and Stiff - and that's where my swing speed is so they suit my swing.

Clearly they are butt trim only; there is little information out there as to tip triming to stiffen the shaft. I play between a reg and a stiff in my fairway woods. The common theory is that tipping them an extra inch will stiffen by half a flex. Not sure if that is the deal with Aldila DVS...
