I am currently shopping for shafts for my 16 degree hybrid. My hope is that this will be a accurate 240-270 yard club from the tee.

Today, I was recommended the 90g Aldila VS Proto x-flex as well as the new Project X 6.5 95 gram graphite shaft. The Aldila proto NV (stiff) and Axivcore Green (stiff) were both a bit on the soft side, and I had better results with an x-stiff shaft.

I think am after a very low torque shaft, with a penetrating ball flight and a heavier feel. The Proto VS and Project X shafts are a bit spendy for me right now. I am curious if anyone on the board has put either the 89g or 104g V2 Tour Hybrid shaft into play? I am considering both in an x-stiff.

I am leaning towards the 104g due to it's torque rating (2.0), but haven't ever hit a graphite shaft that heavy. Any input from other users?

I play the 104g V2 in my 585H and I love it. The shaft has such a solid feel and I love the feel of being in more control than with a whippy shaft where I feel not in control on my swing.

Thanks robbo. I've read similar things from guys on the wrx forum about the 104g shaft. For $29.99, i think I may have to jump on it. Do you play the X or S?
