Should I add a wedge

Not sure if this belong in here or equipment however I currently have

an

E Wedge (from Hogan, its their version of pitching wedge)

and a 56*Spin Milled Vokey...

I have room in my bag for some more clubs and feel like I could use both a 52 and a 60. I guess my question is what are your wedge set ups and what would you add or take away to your collections

If you have a distance gap (e.g. you hit your PW 120 and your SW 80) then you might want to fill that in with a 52 degree. If you think you are skilled enough that a 60 degree would help you get loft and control of your chips and short pitches, go with that.

Personally I use a 54 degree and a 58 degree which seems to make sense for my distances and types of shot I play around the greens.

I use a 4 wedge set:

PW 45* -- 120 +/- yards
GW 50* -- 100-110 yards
SW 56*-14 -- 75-100 yards
LW 60*-04 -- Inside 65 yards

This setup works well for me. My favorite club in the bag (and also the I hate most at times) is the LW, this is my got club within 30 yard from the green, and all around in the fringe. I only use the putter directly on the putting green.

I played the E and SW combo for a long time. Broke down last year and added a GW. Keep in mind the E is towards the strong side (46 degrees depending on the year), so think about what gap you're looking to cover. So far my GW is closer towards my E. I probably should have gone 52 instead of 50.

If I were you, I'd look into another Vokey. I have 3 different wedges, with 3 different shafts from 3 different eras. It may be in my head, but each one has a different feel.

I play 4 wedges, standard loft/lie with set I purchased, plus 52-08 & 60-08 Vokeys. The Vokeys are perfect from 80 yards in or around the green for delicate flops etc. Adding in the extra wedges has definately helped reduce my handicap recently, but the question you need to answer is how good is your short game....if its great I would certainly say add some wedges, they are the scoring clubs in the bag, but if you are better with long irons/hybrids try adding those instead.

Yeah, the Es are bit strong (48 for my sets) to go straight from E to SW. I pulled the E out of my PCs and put in a 50 degree Tom Watson. 44(9i)-50-56-60

Awesome guys I appreciate. Helps when others have used the E's as I was always unaware what exactly the degree was. Il probably go with something along the lines of a 52. Im looking at a Vokey, CG15 and the nikes

I'm using the E (48 degrees) for pitching past 30 yards and the Sure-Out (56 degrees) for the shorter ones. This combo works like a charm, and keeps thing simple. Fewer clubs, fewer choices, fewer errors in club selection. And I get the ball close with each one, thank you.

Depending upon what the loft of your E wedge is, you might want to consider adding a 50* or 52*. A 60* might be a good idea, but its a club that is difficult to wield effectively; so whether or not thats a wise club to add to the bag is really a personal decision.
Personally, I have a 47* PW, 52* GW, 56* SW and a 60* LW. I like that setup. For me, it gives me good yardage gaps and lots of options around the green.
