I'm hitting a 580XD right now and have thought about changing. It's hard though. Last year I wasn't using a driver and used 3 wood instead. Then I bought a Nike driver and it improved a little. Then ended up with this driver and my driver has become one of my most reliable clubs. Yes they are old and there might be some extra distance etc to be found but why bother?
I know how far it is going and where it is going for the most part. That to me is the makings of a club worth keeping.

In my bag:

Nike SQ DYMO 10.5
Big Bertha 3 Wood
Big Bertha 3-10 IADAMS Tom Watson Classic 54,58 and 64 Wedges Nike Oz 5 Putter/Wilson Staff ( not sure model, bought it in second hand store ) Ball: Bridgestone E6

Don't buy into the market too much either. Technology in the clubhead hasn't changed a dramatic amount since the 580XD. Sure, we've got all the shaft and hosel setup crap, and differing distributions of weight, however the size of the head and technology in the face (ICT) of the 580XD is actually quite good.

I don't like the idea of the superfast.
"Lets make the club super light and long" The driver is the least accurate club in the bag, that just makes it harder to hit.

I've been thinking that ever since I bought my '09 Burner, which was built with the same principles. It's surprising to me that more people don't bring that point up that point when talking about Drivers in the market today.

Now with the $50 off......
Get the driver and take a few lessons.
It can sometimes help to work on a swing change when you have a new club. (nothing to revert back to)
There is no reson to worry about how you would have hit it before the swing upgrade.
I am still a work in progress with my SF, but it is not crazy wild because of the shaft length. (working on a slightly weaker grip)
I would think golf is not your bread maker, so if you have the cash buy it, get a lesson or two and smash that monster 325.

Or you could get a G15 and hit some fairways while only losing 10 yards distance..... Your telling a 19 handicapper to hit a club that is really only going to be good for low handicap players.

Burner Superfast for a low handicapper?????
Just because it is long does not mean low handicapper. The G15 is a longer than standard club also.
His earlier posts state he hits the driver well. That tells me he may be able to handle the added shaft length.
75% of handicap comes from scoring clubs.
The comment on lessons is to help the handicap. The purchase comment is to satisfy the want/need for new equipment that bites all of us........

But a high handicapper is already not going to be that accurate with a driver.

A lighter club will be less accurate. A longer club will be less accurate. A good swing will be needed to get a good shot out with that club
