Keep the driver and see if you can get a shaft that may work better for you. As others have said (and I have experienced) forgiveness is on hits off center. If it's a swing path issue, and not a center of the clubface contact issue, I don't think any driver will really change that too much.

Have you messed around with different tee heights ?

You are not crazy (many charge for that information $$$$$) The fact is that tee positioning and height make a huge difference on ball trajectory. When I started playing, I used to use 4" tees the ball was in front of my left (leading) toe, and the tee had at least 2" clearance between the ball and the ground...I was a bad slicer!!!!!

When I changed to the R7 cbg Max Driver, which had a shorter shaft and was very very whypy, I had to adjust the tee considerably. Ball positioning changed to a few inches back (it now lined up with the inside of my left heel), tee height dropped to about 1.25" to 1.5" clearance between ball and ground. This allowed me to get the ball under control and somewhat straight with a slight fade, but I lot about 30 yards in distance. With my current driver, R7 Limited, I have kept the ball posistioning, but Ihave raised the tee a bit...may be 1.5" to 1.75". I regained the 30 yards that I lost and then some. Ball positioning and tee height are two crucial factors on you performance with the long stick! (there is jake in there somewhere...)
It's the indian, not the arrow! But it sure is nice to have good arrows!!!!!

I never really paid much attention to the height of the tee, but it makes perfect sense. I'll find some tees that help me be more consistent.

I went out yesterday and focused on my driver and it went ok. I just know I have to exagerate the follow through in order to get the club to square on impact. Impact was mostly around the center.

Gonna try to get to Golf Galaxy today and get some opinions about what shaft I should be playing and try out the G10 to see if I like it better than my current 905R.

I have been using these tees from golf galaxy called

Opti-Height Tees They basically have depth lines that help you with depth consistency. I attribute some mof my recent success with the driver to these tees.

You guys were dead on!!! The shaft on my driver is just too heavy. Went to golf galaxy, my swing speed is around 105mph. Worked with one of the instuctors there and he said for the shaft I have (76grams) an ideal swing speed is around 110-115mph. Makes perfect sense, as the only time it goes straight is when I swing outa my shoes. They handed me several drivers, even some of the drivers meant for better players, with a weight around 65 grams and stiff, and no matter what driver they gave me the ball went straight or maybe a very slight fade. I'm happy to know that it wasn't my swing that was killing my driver.

Anyhow, they recommended that I reshaft my current head since I like it with a Aldila NV 65 gram shaft (green). Any of you guys have experience with this one?

BTW, They are asking $68 for the shaft. I know it is online cheaper somewhere. If you guys can find it, please post the link. Thanks.

I'm thinking about selling the 905R to my buddy and buying the G10 driver due to the forgiveness it offers.

Ping G15 is a great driver if you're looking for forgiveness and playability.

In my Callaway Warbird stand bag:
Ping G15 10.5* Graphite Design YS-6+ S
Ping G15 4W 17* Aldila Serrano S
Adams IDEA A7 19* UST Mamiya AXIVcore S

Yes!!! incredible shaft and the price makes it a no brainer. This is the shaft that I was going to put on my cbg Max...it costs total about $100 once you have it nstalled, and gripped., still not a bad option.

All my shafts are Aldila, with the exeption of my 3w with had a graphic design (I can't hit the dman thing) my 3h is Aldila 65R Proto by You, and my irons have Aldila 75R Proto By you. I wanted the driver with a similar shaft for consistency purposes, but I think I ended up with a similar if not better setup with the r7 limited. Anyway..it's a great option for you , and for the money you get your seing back, and get to keep the driver you like....sound like a done deal!!!!

    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
    • Day 1 - 2025-12-20 Starting a new streak, of at least 1. With rain dumping for the next week in the north bay area, I'll be a lot of outdoor net work and maybe some putting. About 10 minutes of 7 iron work, focused on the usuals: weight transfer, keeping hands behind me. I'll have more time in the coming days for video review and maybe some Hack Motion.
    • Day 40 (20 Dec 25) - got in a few reps with the 55° wedge - focused on low flighted spinners from about 10 yds in, then wrapped up the session with a few bump and runs chips with the 5i using a putting type stroke.
    • Day 26: did my drill in the driveway for a bit. Feeling pretty decent about the change.
