... or don't understand that the moment you take a gimmee in anything other than match play you have not had a legitimate round of golf for scoring and handicapping purposes.

Just for future reference, you only need to finish 13 holes to be able to post a "legitimate" 18 hole round for handicap purposes. On the unfinished holes you post what you would have most likely made had you finished, and on any hole not played at all, you use par plus any handicap strokes you would receive on that hole.

Back to the topic. If your ball lies in grass anywhere on the golf course which is not marked as a water hazard, then you are simply in grass. No special treatment.

Wow Fella's, I didnt know i was starting a Jerry Springer show here. I play at a nine and know pretty much most of the rules that pertain to the sport of golf. I moved from indiana just a couple of months ago and have never seen or played in a so called "grass bunker." I obviously now live in florida and checked a couple of rule applications on my iphone and did not see anything about it so i assumed it was just a part of the course and not a hazzard so you are able to ground your club into these "hazzards." As far as killing someone as far not knowing the complete rules of the game, get over yourself man. There are a ton of players in every major sport that do not know the rules. Golf we are a little different because we govern ourselves. Lets be honest with ourselves, there are so many rules in every sport it is really tough to know every single one. In most rounds probably only 25% of the rules come into play and once in a blue moon you may question a rule that you do not know. its not the end of the world. You think that albert pujols knows every single rule in baseball? he maybe knows 50%.....just saying...

There is a hole on my home course that at one time had a sand filled bunker that for some reason was filled in. Now it has pretty thick grass in it. Still deep and no fun to hit out of...but at least I can ground my club. That's the only thing I thought of when I saw the OP.

My home course has several grass "bunkers". Most of the time I'd rather be in a real bunker, with sand and everything.
