I'm new to the forum and looking for some advice. My wife and I looked around and tried some different clubs over the past week and a half and she decided she really liked the Adams A3os iron set. Being new to the game we didn't want to spend $400 to buy an iron set just to find out she was too new to know what she wanted. Plus, that still left at least a few other clubs and a bag to be purchased.

We found an entire Adams A3os 14 piece ladies set on Ebay, brand new in the package for $355 shipped, a price we were willing to spend to get started especially since they are still for sale online for much more. Everything arrived yesterday, just like it was supposed to except that it's a Petite set, the listing said Ladies flex. I contacted the seller and she said she had no clue they came in different specs and that this set was the only one she had.

So, my question is, do I lose $30 in shipping to send these back and start our search over again, or does my wife try them for a while and if they are too short for her then get them regripped with added length? Are "ladies petites" just shorter or is the flex actually different? Just for the record, shes 5'4" and her swing speed is consistently between 68-71. She was fitted over the weekend for Ladies regulars by the Pro at the golf shop.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, she really wants to take them to the driving range to see if they are too short, but we don't want to take all of the plastic off before we figure this out.

Have you actually opened the package and determined the length of the clubs yet?

If the clubs need to be lengthened, I would figure out how much you saved by going with these clubs vs. another retailer, factor in the return shipping costs and determine what you want to do. to lengthen clubs would probably be around $10 a club (including a new grip if you need a new grip) so figure you will be out of pocket $100 or more to lengthen the clubs. Add that to the $30 in return shipping costs and your $350 set now cost almost $500.

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

With most companies the petite clubs use the same shaft, just 1/2" to 1" shorter. I looked on Adams' web site and couldn't even get specs for the petite A3OS clubs. If it were me, I would take one of your clubs to the shop and compare it to the regular. At your wife's height, she is probably fine with either set, but you should compare side by side to make sure.

In My Grom:
Driver: Taylormade R1 10.5°
Fairway: Taylormade RocketBallz Stage 2 Tour 14.5°
Hybrids: Ping G25 3, 4
Irons: Mizuno 5-PW JPX 800 Pro

Wedges: CG-14 50°, 56°, 60°

Putter: Nike Method 003

We opened the package last night and thats when we found the "petite" stickers on each of the shafts. I don't know enough to know what the measurement should be so I'm just going off the stickers.

The clubs just have the stock Winn G8 grips on them so I guess if they can be reused we wouldn't need a new grip.

If I keep them and regrip, I wouldn't lose the $30 return shipping so I guess it just makes the set closer to $450. Seems like most retailers are $699-$799. I guess it's still a decent deal just not as good as $350. I guess the old adage "you get what you pay for" got me on this one.

I think we'll start here, see how far off they are from regular and maybe try them out for a couple days before thinking about lengthening them.
