I had some new clubs I bought on eBay fitted last week (Hogan Apex Redines) and I was hitting them off the lie board to check the lie angle. Since I tend to pick the ball off the ground, the first two swings I didn't get a readable impact off the board.

So I hit down deliberately to make sure I put a mark in the tape, made nice bang off the lie board, and got a beautiful shot out of it. Next swing, same thing. Not that I don't get good ball flight normally, but this flight was something else.

So I asked the pro if hitting down so much contributed to the way that shot looked, and he said, "Yup."
