Not a flashy course, but it is my home course and by far my favorite course to play. The front nine is far more challenging than the back nine (Front par: 37, Back Par: 34) If you get a chance play it. I will post more as i get the chance to

If I ever get happy with myself for finishing 12th or 15th, someone needs to put my clubs away and I'll take up tiddlywinks.

As aforementioned, cobleskill is a par 72 course that is set in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains, and is a wonderful course to play. If you are ever around Schoharie/Cobleskill NY check it out. All the staff are great......Pro is Paul Jaycox, former Oneonta Pro. Great guy for a great course. The only thing is you will have to call ahead for tee times, leagues are wed, thurs, and fri. nights starting at 5, and a league tues morning starting at 9. You can usually get on, as long as there are no tournaments going on

      It isn't about maintaining focus 100% of the time when you are on the course. It is getting focus back for the shot at hand. Even PGA tour players will chat with their caddies or opponents about non-golf stuff, but then lock in. It is hard to try to constantly be 100% locked in for 4+ hours.  Totally normal thing to happen. You really only need a few moments of focus.  This is where a pre-shot routine helps. Maybe you need to add something that gets the focus back.  I just focus on every shot like a puzzle that needs solved. I like solving puzzle and problems. So, I try to be curious. Which then enhances focus. I think it lets me take each shot at hand. It lets me have the down time between shots. What I do is just get to the ball, and then start gathering information. Yardage, lie, wind, where is the pin at, etc.. Then I figure out what I want to do.  It's not like I can't shut off the thoughts and focus when I need to. I only need to focus for a few minutes before each shot.
