Hey guys, thanks for the nice site and looking forward to being a part of it.

I'm 35 and have been golfing since I was old enough to drive myself to the course. During late high school and early college I played 3-5 rounds a week, and actually got pretty decent. I once played a round with a couple guys from the University of Missouri team and held my own. But then I married a controlling wife, had a kid, got divorced, bounced around for awhile, and just now have got things stable again.

Anyway I've only been playing once a year or so for the last 5-7 years, and it's been frustrating to say the least. This year I've played 5 rounds, my new Father-in-law takes me out a lot. Well last weekend we had a family scramble and a great time, but I lost a club. I've been playing the same clubs since college - Lynx Parallax irons and Callaway Great Big Bertha driver and woods. I learned on an old set of forged blades, so the Lynx were a revelation for me at the time. After I lost my Parallax pitching wedge last weekend I figured it was time to finally get a new set of clubs (gee, ya think)

So I've been going to every range in the area this week and demo'ing what I can. I hit a lot of clubs, but really like the Cobra S9 irons. They just felt perfect, and found a used set that fit my fitment needs perfectly - +.5 length with stiff Nippon shafts ... so I brought those home yesterday. I also picked up a beautiful TaylorMade R7 Limited driver with a Pershing 65 Stiff shaft. I literally was amazed at how well I hit that driver, for years I've been driving with my 3 iron because I have no confidence in my old driver. Well I think that's about to change! I made a bit of a strage decision for a fairway wood, a Cobra M-Speed offset. But fairway woods have always been hard for me, and I couldn't argue with how consistently well I hit this club ... and it was only $25! Another new thing for me were some hybrids, I'd never hit one in my life before but I think I'm going to like them. I got a Cobra Baffler TWS 18* and 23* hybrid.

So my new bag is set, and I have people to play with regularly. I'm excited to be back in the game. This afternoon I'm going to play at the course up the road from me where it's $18 for 18 holes with a cart ... dirt cheap, and it's a decent course.

Anyway, nice to be here
