Shaun Micheel is back!

I forget exactly what status he's using for this season; he finished T64 at Q-School in 2009, after not breaking $300K.

I suspect he's on sponsor exemptions. The sole tournament for which he gets past champion status has yet to happen this season. And his 5-season exemption from winning the PGA in 2003 ran out. Sponsor exemptions and Monday qualifying. Maybe he's in as umpteenth alternate, and has been in the right place at the right time.

Well, it looks like he has his card for next year - and, I believe, the rest of this year. And he's playing well again (4th in scoring average, for example)

His fourth place finish at the John Deere gave him enough, I think. Over $950K in official earnings places him well above last year's 125th marker (Jimmy Walker, $662K). So I think he has his 2011 TOUR card.

In any case, it's great to see someone produce this sort of comeback. After two consecutive seasons with no top-10s, he has as many top-5s this season as top-25s in the previous two.

I think he is on a mission. His Mom is dying from cancer and I think it has given him inspiration to do well for her. Hope he continues on with his mission. I'd say for sure he has his card wrapped up for 2011.
