I am on a budget of $350 or less. On this website I was looking at I found that the Big Bertha, X-14 and X-16 was within my price range. I hit my friend's '05 Big Bertha and I don't know if it was because he had graphite shafts, but it just didn't feel right hitting it. I guess I have just been used to hitting the same irons for 10 years. CHEERS!!!

If you do not mind using ebay, it is the way to go. My irons retail for around $900 and I got them for $425 in very good condition. That way if you aren't happy with them you can always trade them in or sell them to make your money back.

The standard X series irons (at least since X18) come with a Uniflex shaft unless someone had them customized. Uniflex picks up both the R and lower S flexes (the flex varies according to your swingspeed on a given shot). And, it has a midkick point, meaning it has a medium-height trajectory.

I got X20s in part because they don't pop the ball up as much as Big Berthas, and the Ping G10s.

If you get the ball up OK, try with X series irons. If not, try Big Bertha or used Pings.

Note to te3point5 on TGW site: The X20s on the TGW site do not have a bore-through hosel, like the X18R model that came out about 18 months ago. The non-bore-through variants are pegged for the $400 price point. Not sure if they play any differently than original X18 and X20 models.

Focus, connect and follow through!
