I am in the middle of reshapping my bag and I am looking for possibly a new hybrid. I am currently playing an x-series hybrid. I love it in the sense that I can hit the ball a ton and it gets up in the air nice, but I tend to pull it alot. No matter what i do when I line up to hit my shots with it the club face always seemed closed and by closed i mean slammed shut! Ive tried changin my grip my stance everything. What I end up doing is aiming well right and hope i pull it back far enough left. I guess what I am really lookin for is a hybrid that the face isnt closed on, or is that standard with all hybrids, it seems like all the hybrids Ive picked up have had the same look. Just looking for some ideas! Thanks

I picked up two Adams Pro Gold hybrids and have really liked them. Especially in the Ozik shaft. You can find good deals on them now since they're last year's model.

The two suggestion kfowler and adamg made are good as both are minimal offset hybrids. I had a problem with hooking and pulling my previous hybrid but my 909 H, which has a slightly open face, has been much better. If you want to stick with Callaway, the Diablo Edge Tour would be a decent option. I would also expect a Tour version of your X Hybrid to be available but I've never seen one. There are alot of good clubs out there to try. The TaylorMade Rescue TP (08 Version) can be found for cheap. You can also find the 2009 Rescue TP which has the adjustable face technology.

Try just aiming down your target line & swinging straight. The further right you aim, with the clubface pointing down the target line, the more draw spin you impart on the ball, the further left it goes.

Try what leo3 suggested.

If that doesn't work, you might regrip the 4H with an extra wrap of tape. Possibly this would lessen hand action and bring shots back to center.

Adams seems to make some really great hybrids. The ones made by Bobby Jones have a different look than most on the market. I'm not sure how those set up though.

    • I have never performed any kind of "study" on this but I "feel" like I play better after a workout. I hit the gym the morning before rounds when ever I can.  The truth is I "feel" better after a morning workout no matter what I'm doing afterwards.  If I do any kind of workout after the round, 99 times out of 100 its just stretching.
    • A few month ago tested hitting the gym before a round of golf, not good result. I was soured for a few holes, not ideal for tournament play.  After golf I'm tired, the is no way I hit the gym. Even My legs are tired next morning so I always take a rest day and I'm fully recovered to hit the gym the next morning.

    • Tremendous finish by Grace Kim! Eagles the 18th to tie Thitikul. Takes a penalty shot on the first playoff hole and chips in for birdie from the drop area to advance to the second playoff hole. Eagles the last to win! -5 in three holes to win!
