I'm playing 1998 Top-Flite Tour irons. They were low end irons even when they were new but I hit a lot of clubs before I chose them. I've been mostly happy with them and haven't really been compelled to change. I was even reluctant to give hybrids a try because I like my long irons. However, I recently added Bobby Jones hybrids to my bag and can't believe the effect they are having on my game. I'm wondering with the new technology and custom fitting of irons if new irons could have a similar impact on my game.

My equipment:

Driver - Callaway FT3 Fusion (9 degree)
3 Wood - Orlimar Tri-Metal (9 degree)
Hybrids - Bobby Jones (17, 21 & 25 degree)

Irons - KZG XCB 5 - PW

Wedges - Warrior (52 & 56 degree)

Putter - STX Envision

Ball of choice - Callaway TOUR i(s)

I would try some out if I were you. There are definitly benefits to newer irons since yours are from 1998. Im sure if you look around you can find a set that you can hit alot better

I would get fit and have your irons adjusted. They charge $4 a club around me and being that those are of a quality casting you could probaly go 3 degrees in either direction. Those irons will play as well as any around now.

In my L8...
Driver: Launcher 460 9.5
Fairway Wood: 18 degree hybrid
Irons: G5 3-GW
Wedges: m/b 50, 56Putter: Anser 2Ball: D2 Feel
