So I am still in my first season of golf and am trying to get down my permanent clubs in my bag. These are the definites I have in my bag every time out:
Driver: Macgregor M85T 9.5 Stiff
Hybrid: Macgregor MHT 3H (19 degree)
Irons: MaxFli Black Max 5-PW(47 degree), SW(56 degree)
Wedge: LW(64 degree)
Putter: MaxFli Black Max

These are my questions. I have a MaxFli Black Max 3(15 degree) and 5(18 degree) wood and I only want to put one in the bag. Any suggestion on which one?

Also, I really feel like I am missing a wedge in between my PW and SW. Often, I will not want to use my SW, so I chip it nicely with my PW right onto the front of the green and it rolls off. I feel like if I had a nice GW in between it would be perfect. If I added a GW that would be 4 wedges which I think is a bit much. I was going to maybe keep my PW(47), get a GW(53) and then a LW(59) so I have an even 6 degree between each and only use 3 wedges.

Any thoughts/suggestions/comments?

This first time i swung a golf club was on 5/8/10....

I personally don't think that 64 is doing you any good if you're in your first season. Those are difficult to hit well and I think a 60 or even a 58 degree wedge would be a better fit for you on the high end. A 54 degree wedge would be good for that gap between your pitching and sand wedges.

stick the 3 wood in there, leave the 64 wedge at home and put a 60 in, i would think of putting something in between the 19d hybrid and the 5 iron...and you're set.

I definitely agree with you both. I actually just literally took the 64 out..it was helping...I am going to look for a 58-60 LW and a 51-53 GW. I am going to put the 3W in the bag and just practice and learn to hit it. When i am playing a par 5 and i am on my second shot 230-250 away i have no shot of reaching he green with my 3H.

I have a 4H that i could put in the bag between the 3H and 5 iron. The only reason i haven't is because the 3H i have is a new Macgregor MHT that i LOVE....the 4H is the MaxFli Black Max that came with the set.

I didn't mention it before but I concur with the 3 wood too. Many golfers use it as a backup for their driver when they need distance with a bit more control, as on tight fairways. I can hit mine off the deck pretty easily too, but others prefer to use a hybrid for that kind of shot.

Good luck!

I dont know how your accuracy is but if I'm 230-250 out on a par 5 I CAN reach but God knows how accurate its giong to be so I take a confident 180-210 yard club and lay up. It's been saving me tons of strokes. If I drop my 5w or 3w on the green its going to bounce all over the damned place and I might lose it. If I get my 4 iron to within 50 yards I can run an 8 iron up next to the pin and put for birdie
