So I played a round at the nicest course in Illinois today and shot 43 for 9. The thing is I could not hit my driver well at all, I was hooking all of them to the left. My iron play was freaking wonderful though and that really encouraged me. My putting was only ok, could of saved alot of strokes if my putting was better.

my question is why is it when one part of our game is so "on", we lack in others. Like I was hitting my irons wonderful but couldnt hit my driver for anything. I just went to the three wood after awhile and it saved me. I hear this story over and over with people, what do you guys think?

I'm right their with ya. This is what keeps me from being a single digit handicap. One day I'm striping my drives, the next day I'm hammering my irons. I just can't seem to put it all together. The only thing that saves my rounds is my short game which just seems to have come naturally because I never really put much time into it since it's never been a problem.

Career Bests:

9 Holes--37 @ The Fairways at Arrowhead-Front(+2)

18 Holes--80 @ Carroll Meadows Golf Course(+9)

Home Course:

1) The Fairways at Arrowhead

2) Mayfair Country Club

It takes lots of practice in the right area of your game in order to have consistency in your overall performance. I believed that this happens to every golfer out there.

I knew for a fact that while some parts of my game won't be great on some particular rounds, that's where the short-games would come into play. Good short-games will save lots and lots of strokes and this is probably the finest line that separates us amateurs to the pros. If you have confidence along with good short-games, you can be a bit more aggressive approaching the targets.

yea thats true. i missed alot of putts right outside of a foot which sucks. Greens are kind of hard at that course.
