Does anyone have advice on where to get a proper fitting in NYC? I've been to golfsmith and tried their launch monitor and so forth but nothing was ever really accomplished besides how I felt about a particular club. I do not mind spending some cash to be "fitted" properly, however if a $100 fitting entailed what Golfsmith does for you then I would be highly disappointed.

I know that NY Golf Center provides fittings for $100 but I'm not sure if they "properly" fit you. Any advice from people experienced would be nice.

Anyway, thanks in advance.

If you drive, you can go to Pete's Golf, in Mineola. Not cheap, fantastic service. $80 for irons fitting, $100(I think) for driver/woods and $60 for putter. Not deducted from the cost of the clubs either. But they will spend time with you, if an hour, to many hours. Launch monitor, different club heads, different shafts, the works. Here's the link -

I was considering this place for a little while since they have a trackman, you're not hitting into a net and based on the reviews here in the past. A little out of the way, but reviews here were solid.

I ended up just doing my own research and paid $60 for my shaft. I figured, worst case I'd burn $60. So far it's working out pretty well.
