Did a lot of things right today on the way to my best 9 of my short career. Ultimately a couple of triple bogeys and doubles negated 7 pars (5 on the back nine). I hope to gain a little more consistency before the season is over and I think I could be shooting low 80s instead of high 80s and low 90s.

If only I could chip the ball as well as I drive it haha, my game is so backwards.

I shot a 42 myself on Thursday. I managed to hit most of the shots I wanted, when I wanted them. I though I was going to see the 80's. Then I screwed the pooch on the back nine.

"My ball is on top of a rock in the hazard, do I get some sort of relief?"

Short games bring me to my knees, too.

It's hard to believe that chipping from the fringe can be so difficult. I have so many negative thoughts over short shots and ended up spent a few more on those. Worse thing is, I used to love these shots and did so well with them.

Congrats, btw.

Yeah I hate the nerve racking feeling of chipping from the fringe lol. Shot a 44 on a par 36, 9 yesterday which is the best for me I believe no birdies, several pars, and a couple bogey/double bogey. Hit a few shots in the there that were the type that make you think you are actually good lol. If I didnt flub a chip on a par 5 that I got within 10yds in 2 I think I couldve scored a 42 as well.

Well just to give you guys an idea of my game, here is how a double bogey happens for me...

400 yd Par 4, hit my driver leaving between 90-120 depending on terrain and conditions. Birdie is on my mind every time, so no negative thoughts, yet I manage to pull off 5 shots from 100 yards...really? Now the bassackwards part of it all is that I do great on par 3s. It is like I am scared to put myself in position for a birdie, and if I do I can never convert.

EDIT: I just thought of a question I should be asking you guys...What club SHOULD I be hitting from 20 yards? for chipping? I do not yet have the Pinemeadow wedges in my sig. so you can ignore those. Thanks for any input.
