A great drill / mental thought to keep your head still on the backswing

I don't have someone who can throw a club up next to my right ear when practicing to keep my head from swaying back...but a drill I just figured out last night has been working pretty good.

When I setup to the ball, I play the ball about center or 1-2 inches forward of center in my stand. But I try to keep the center of my chest in line with where the ball is.

When setup this way, that means my right eye is actually equal with the golf ball or slightly in front (give or take).

Well the mental thought on my address is seeing an invisible string/line attached from my left eye to the back of the ball. This of course creates what is an angled line (front to back), or if you were at caddy view...would be a right (front) to left (back) angle.

As I swing back, I focus on the back of the golf ball and keeping that left eye in position.

So far, this drill really seems to work, and I feel much better swinging to the top of my swing imagining my left eye connected to the back of the ball.

Try it and let me know what you think. Everyone is of course different though.

If the ball is forward of center in your stance, how is that even with your right eye?

If you want to keep your head steady, side tilt, extend, and rotate at the same rate.

I said "give or take" :) I don't know how accurate...but the whole visualization of a line from my left eyeball to the back of the ball for some reason makes me want to keep my head from swaying right.

well tested my theory today...it worked, but I hit the ball like crap. I think I was focused more on my head being still then properly rotating around my body which led to mishits. Will have a video to post later.
