Shaft Length/Choking Down

Just upgraded to some AP1 710s off eBay.

Got them new for a good deal but the only catch was they are 3/4 of an inch long.

Will I be fine if I simply choke down on the irons or should I pay to have them cut down?

I know some pros (Anthony Kim) choke down on all irons just out of habit.

So what is the best course of action?

Definitely cut it down. Anthony Kim chokes down on all his standard length irons because he grew up playing that way.

If you normally don't choke down, I'd say just get it down. 3/4" is a fairly significant increase in length.

I agree. If it were a 1/4" we are talking about I'd say just choke up. But 3/4" is just too much IMO.

Minus the cost of a new grip, do you happen to have an "guesstimate" on what cutting them down would run me?

also....how much would cutting the club down affect its weight and stiffness? a significant amount???
