Day 2 Report:

Better than yesterday....well a HUGE improvement over yesterday but still could have been better
not really sure what happenned on the front nine.....
started off good w a par, then 3 bogies, 2 pars then ended w a double
Front nine 41

Important Stats:

Fwy's-3/6
Putts-17
GIR-2/9
Scrambling-2/6

Back nine was really good
Birdied 10 (was on in two w a 10 footer for eagle)
maintained -1 for 5 holes, w a bogey on 14 and 18
15, 16 and 18 putts literally sat on the lip (15 for bird) - if those would have dropped, I should have been -1 on the back
Back nine 37

Important Stats:

Fwy's-4/7
Putts-18
GIR-7/9
Scrambling-0/2

As you can see from the back nine, hit more fwy's and more GIR's and the score is typically better

Total score is a 78

Some things that helped me today:

*slow deep breath and releasing over 5 seconds when my heart got racing.....this REALLY works to calm nerves
*I wear a yellow livestrong band on my right wrist - ever time i finished a shot, I would snap it once and forget about the previous shot (good or bad). This really helped me clear my mind and prepare for the next shot
*Quicker pre-shot routine BUT always a pre-shot routine

Not sure where i will be flighted tomorrow, somewhere in the middle is my guess

As metioned yesterday, I showed up 15 mins before my round, got organized, hit a few chips and putts and off to the first tee
Played better this way-less time to over think sh*t

Well on to tomorrow and see if i can string together a low to mid 70's round

stay tuned......

Day 3 - Final Day:

long story short....

there was about 110-120 golfers total
I was in the 4th flight today
it rained hard for about 8 holes on and off and was super windy (35/km hr)
shot 82 and won runner up in my flight, losing by only 2 strokes (and i had a triple on a hole I NEVER triple)...damn...

anyways....

good learning experience, played great back nines (averaged 39 on the back all 3 days) front killed me
need to get index down and get my tournament experience for next year

winter is fast approaching......

    • I didn't know until this past week that Rose holds the record for the most times having the lead after day one of The Masters.  He must really love those Day 1 pin placements.
    • I think Rose is great. Much respect to his consistency, professionalism, work off-course and a never give-up attitude. But I have mixed feelings about his Masters campaign. Afterall, the dude came within a putt of ruining the perfect ending to probably the greatest unfinished story in golf. 😱

    • Justin Rose = Adam Scott to me. Their careers and achievements have been incredibly similar. I've always respected Justin, as he's not been content to fade into obscurity or just make a few million a year hanging on to and playing off past achievements.
