In the quest for the RIGHT hybrid (for me,) I think that I've narrowed my search down to the TM Rescue Dual TP. The only thing that is stopping me from pulling the trigger is the price tag in the $190 range on eBay, and how Taylor Made likes to change their models every other day. I would just hate to purchase one today, and by next week the price drops to half because of a newer version.

Also I am looking to getting the pinseeker 1500 w/ slope (although I am not so worried about this changing).

Is now the time to buy, or is after Christmas?

Thanks in advance.

Don't get the one with slope. It's a waste of $50 or $100 or whatever it is. The "slope" feature is silly.

Not to mention 100% illegal. You can't even use it in a tournament, even with the slope feature turned off. Just get the non-slope one.

I don't know what kind of Christmas specials Golf Gods is going to have, but you can save 10% on your order any day there by using any of the wildly available coupon codes. Here's one:

Thanks for the reply guys.

Iacas, I thought that you said that the slope feature was cool from your review? And about it being illegal in tournament use, well I don't see myself playing in a tournament anytime soon. I'm actually planning on using the range finder for new courses, and for when the driver gets a little wild (which is sometimes a lot) to get a yardage back onto my fairway or green without having to use trig. Also, did I miss the review on the 585h? I too am in the 15% population of the hooks, and it kind of sucks that almost everything in the market is geared towards the other 85% of duffers. I have the R5 TP with the Diamana shaft, so I am guessing that the TP Dual would be a great fit.

Hey, if you are looking at hybrids, try the new Mizuno Fli-Hi CLK. It has less offset, and a great look. I have one on the way, and am looking forward to getting it. I also have a Bushness Pinseeker 1500, and I could not be more happy with it! Great piece of hardware!!

The TM Rescue Mid is as good as the Dual TP and a hell of a lot cheaper ($40 used on Ebay). I played the 19 and the 16 degree loft with the stiff steel shafts until I became a Titleist snob. Although the 585H is growing on me.

I owned the CLK for about a week, and the Nickent 3DX hybrid for about the same time too. Both of them gave me MEAN hooks, so bad in fact that I went back to my 2iron. I know that they work great for most, but I'm just not one of them. Which is funny since I can play MP 33s, but I can't hit a freakin 3 wood off the deck if my life depeneded on it. Which is also a reason why I tend to stay away from wood type hybrids.

I'm just looking for a 230 off the deck club that doesn't hook, is that so much to ask?

The strongest positive I ever called it was "Quite handy!" Later I said it was "quite a help." That's hardly a glowing review of that feature.

And about it being illegal in tournament use, well I don't see myself playing in a tournament anytime soon. I'm actually planning on using the range finder for new courses, and for when the driver gets a little wild (which is sometimes a lot) to get a yardage back onto my fairway or green without having to use trig.

Yes, but do you ever play with people? Do you ever play a $5 nassau? They may be pissed off, too.

It ain't worth the $50. It's a "quite handy" feature that's "quite a help," but $50 to put you on the illegal side of things ain't worth it. And the review was written before the finalized USGA ruling(s) came out.
Also, did I miss the review on the 585h? I too am in the 15% population of the hooks, and it kind of sucks that almost everything in the market is geared towards the other 85% of duffers.

In a couple weeks this review will be done.

I have the R5 TP with the Diamana shaft, so I am guessing that the TP Dual would be a great fit.

I moved away from my TP to the 585. I couldn't stop hitting the ball way up in the air with the TP.

I hear you with hooking your fairway woods. I have to play my 585H back in my stance a little and play it like a 7-iron or I get hooky with it. I'll hit it about 210 or so. For 220-230, I love the 906f2 5-wood. I hit this straight, really straight. It has the Alidila stiff shaft in it, which might make the difference. The ball flight is so boring and penetrating. I demoed a 3 and 5 wood with the Titleist stock shaft and I got a little draw/hook action, but not that bad. But, I think the Aldila is perfect. There is also the DG S300 option for a shaft, but I found that I hit those same fairway woods about 10-15 yards less. The clubhead on these fairway woods is awesome, not too big, not too small, and has a bit wider face like a hybrid. Alright, I'll stop drooling over my 5-wood now. Good luck.

    • What's the rest of that story? Where was the ball going?
    • The criticisms are starting already 🤣 U.S. Open pro criticizes Shinnecock green conditions: 'Bumpy' After playing his first practice round at the 2026 U.S. Open, Michael Kim offered a less-than-glowing review of Shinnecock's "bumpy" greens.   The sand, I don't care about that. If the greens didn't come back as well for latest aerification, that would be a bit of a blunder on Shinnecock I think.
    • Well, if your frame of reference spins twice during the swing, then Bryson's ab/adduction is more like 780 degrees so there! (Yes I'm being silly, but not sure it's any sillier than what your pal Andy is doing...)
    • Update: Brandon Sorsby has decided to enter the NFL Supplemental Draft. He will not play for Texas Tech in the upcoming season.  From my perspective, I think he did the right thing. I hope he gets the correct help for his gambling addiction. I say the right thing, because I would be worried that the stress from all of this now and throughout the entire year would not be beneficial towards his mental health.  If an NFL team picks him up, then there really isn't any pressure for him to play immediately. He can work on himself and his game for the NFL.  From Texas Tech,  "Texas Tech will continue to provide the support and recovery resources Brendan requires on this journey. Furthermore, Texas Tech will not seek return of any amounts already paid to Brendan through his NIL agreements with the University," Campbell wrote. "We wish our best to Brendan, and we offer our prayers to him and his family as he chases his dreams at the next level. This has been an unbelievably painful experience for us all, but I know that his true, underlying character and lessons learned through this experience will ultimately bring him great success on the field of play and in life." Which, I also the right thing to do.
