I recently purchased both the GX-1 and GX-3 to test. I'm liking the the GX-1 considerably better than the GX-3. The GX-3 field of view seems smaller, the field of view or magnification seem smaller, and it doesn't pick up pins as fast. The only positives I see are the illuminated reticle, slightly smaller size, and cooler look. Anyone that's tried both units, am I missing something? I just want to make sure there's nothing I'm overlooking before the GX-3 goes back.

GX-3 got OLED vs LCD, body of aluminum vs plastic, 3 reticles vs 7, Can shoot 50 yards farther with Prism and 100 yards on a pin. And some other cosmetic or detail changes.

I chose a GX-I because I did not think the other models offered anything that was worth paying more money for. So no, I don't think you've overlooked anything. As far as I can tell, there is no difference in functionality between the two. I haven't tried the GX-3 btw.
