So my driver head seems to turn. Every time I hit a shot off the heel of the driver, the head spins so that when I bring the club back in front of me, the face is now very closed. At first I thought it was my grip slipping, but it's actually the head slipping on the shaft.

Do I need to get the head re-glued onto the shaft? Is that something golf galaxy can do while I wait? And the killer question: is this happening because I left the clubs in the trunk of my car and they got too hot?

I do keep my clubs in the trunk and no head slipping.

your driver head slipping?! sounds dangerous. I'd definitely get that checked out.

I'd think that if the epoxy did let go, you'd know it immediately, whenever you struck any ball the head would likely come off. Also, don't know why it would only happen on heel shots...you're actually torquing the head more hitting it on the sweet spot then the heel.

Seems weird to me, too. Hitting the sweet spot should rotate the club head clockwise (open), if it's that loose. But it doesn't. It just rotates the opposite direction on the shots that I hit way on the heel (shots that would be bad shanks, except that there's no hosel there on the driver). I wonder if the impct with the ball so near to where the shaft attaches to the head is what jars it loose enough to turn.

I guess I'll have it checked out. How does the attachment work? The shaft just fits into a socket in the head, and is held on with epoxy? What about the little ferrule around the shaft? That seems to be coming loose at times also; sliding very slightly up the shaft away from the head. -Andrew
