Not a great day on the course, short story is 4 fairways hit, 1 GIR, 36 putts. The numbers look horrible, I shot a 90 which is not terrible for me.

Had a couple bladed wedges from 60-70yds which really hurt. Also had some very good drives that blew through the fairway that ended up behind trees, etc. So, numbers are a little deceiving. Figured out what I was doing to blade the wedges, and started hitting the driver better at the end of the round...but I definitely need to work on these things this week.

Putts looks terrible, but considering that I'd been averaging around 40 putts/rd, it wasn't bad, I'm happy with two putts per hole right now. My chipping actually was better then it had been lately, I'll keep working around the green.

Still not convinced I can handle my MP-52s, missed a bunch of greens short today with decent swings, I will hit my MX-23s this week and see if there's a difference.

I know that feeling all too well (blading wedges inside 100 yards). Sometimes, I get away with it if it's a FULL wedge and it catches rough short of the green or something... but - in the first 4 rounds of 2010... I've probably thrown away a good 15-20 strokes because of that.

Good luck with the work you'll be putting in. It'll pay off eventually. The work I've put in so far this season has paid off pretty well for me early on.

I need to get it figured out. I'm sure everyone knows the feeling of being in pretty good shape on a hole, then blade the wedge into a bunker or other hazard and completely blowing up the hole. At this point I'm not sure if it's someting as simple as me trying to help the ball up, lifting my head, or if it's an actual mechanical issue. I think it's one of the first two, I do fine with half wedges on the range. I'll keep grinding and get it figured out, good news is this is an "easy" way to drop 2-3 strokes quickly once figured out.
