Well I have yet to break 80 this year....yep my hcp is "3.2" but I am struggling to break 80 this year
I only have 5 rounds in this year and each round is progressivly getting better.....just not good enough yet
It hasnt taken any scores from this year, but I would say im playing more to a 9 right now

I know I have the game....its in there....just having trouble finding it
short game is ok....well....from inside 100 yds is great, putting could be better but im not too worried about it at this point

consistency w ball striking is affecting me right now
yesterday was a tough day - had 2 chunked shots that forced me into tough chip outs and 2 strokes
has 2 thin shots that torned out ok, but left me w some creativeness
im not sure if its me or my irons - the CCi's I had, are really unforgiving and not quite stiff enough for me
pured shots tend to balloon and/or hook

this is one time that i hope new irons will help me fix a few things
I have some "new to me" Bridgestone J36's arriving today w PJX 6.0's in them
i like the feel of the PJX compared to the DG
they are more of a CB than a players, compared to the CCi's
not saying its all the gears fault, but I like to tell myslef that

Course Management
wow.......nothing like trying to get there in 2 and make up strokes...and then get in trouble and PICK UP strokes
when im striking the ball good, all is well
when im not (like now) i should leave the FWY metals in the bag, hit a 7i to a 100yds or less in and pitch it in for birdie
thats my gameplan until my ballstriking improves

Range sessions are useless right now
they havent recovered from winter and we have had a tonn of rain
hitting from matts does nothing for me....so im kinda stuck for a few weeks, other than actual rounds of golf

I have a long road ahead of me, but im getting out quite a bit so its helping

im going to make a promise to myself too

no more gear ho'ing
my wife chewed my ass out this am for it....shes not happy w me at all (seriously)
now granted - the reason for switching irons etc., was needed, simply because I am struggling to find the right stiffness
it hasnt cost me anything more than my original iron purchase last year - bascially just tested out a few different sets etc..
but the wedges, drivers, driver shafts and putters...probably un called for

as of now, my bag will remain unchanged for the remainder of the year

i am giving myself another 2 weeks to get my swing in order on my own
if that doesnt help and i dont start shooting consistenly 78 or less...its lesson time (insert gulp, and swallow pride now )

My hoing is done too - thought about how often I'll actually be using (outdoors) my ebay purchases - not very.

I'm set for life now - probably just update the driver every few years (due to mashing the face with my awesome power lol).
