Played 18 today at the home course from the white tees. 6196 yards, 68.8/122
89.....47/42 6/14 FW, 4 GIR, 28 putts. 1 birdies, 7 pars, 3 bogies, 6 doubles, and 1 triple. 28 putts with no 3 putts. I'm pleased with that, but I struggled mightily off the tee which put mucho pressure on the irons and I flat out folded. I played the Maxfli long and soft. It was long, but not so soft. Wedges and short irons were rolling out way more than usual despite the soft condiitons. It played almost a club longer for me and I flew three greens before I figured it out. What can I say, I'm a slow learner. I'm going back to my 3 piece HX hot bite!

Off the tee.......
I hit Driver 9 times and hit 4 FW. 3w once and hit 0 FW. 2H twice and hit 1 FW.

99.5% of my practice over the past month has been irons and short game, with 70% of the 99.5% being around and on the green chipping/pitching/putting. I obviously need to practice with my long clubs. Staying smooth on the tee and keeping myself from trying to kill the tee shot is part of the problem. I also have a problem with not sticking to my pre-shot routine on the tee box.

    • You're right. I haven't really had an issue with this before, but it's definitely worth closing the legs a bit to see what happens. I've had 2 of these and never had this problem before. About 5 years of use between the 2. It's really odd. Yeah, I've always had a bit of inconsistency and misreads, but this is a new level. I did a baseline session last night, and all my of stack speeds had decreased by roughly 5-10 mph (with me throwing out the obvious garbage readings). Weirdly, the driver speed actually seemed to be right where I expected it. I guess maybe it's having trouble with the smaller head of the stack vs. a driver? Whatever it is, I think it's time for me to go with the stack radar.
    • @DeadManI used to use the Swing Speed radar and, in hindsight, it seems very unreliable.  As @iacassaid, it's prone to misplacement, and I'd sometimes get wildly different speeds from swing-to-swing: like a 103mph, followed by 118mph, then a 102mph, then a 114mph.  I didn't know any better at the time and thought that was normal.  I've since upgraded radars and the new speeds seem much more accurate/consistent. Also, Mike Carroll (FFG) used to have the SSR and he now calls it a 'random number generator'.
    • I have it. Works good. As all things electronics, there are analog elements that can 'weaken' like the microwave signal emitting/receiving or the contact between it and conversion module, etc. Might be time for a new one.     P.S. I've had it for a few years. Other than replacing the battery haven't had any periods of wild reads.
