OK boys and girls, I received my "Save the Date" card today for the golf tournament that I know of that is played at Oakmont, yes THE Oakmont, each spring.

The date of the tournament is April 9, 2007, approximately 2 months prior to the United States Open!

Last year, the cost was approximately $3200 per foursome, $2800 of which was tax deductible.

So who wants to play? Bonus points to anyone who can find a company\sponsor willing to fork out the entry fee for us. Remember, for consultants or sole proprietor's, etc - a $2800 tax deduction is a good thing!

Fahoo, what is the format for the Tournament? I don't have a corporate sponsor, but I might be able to do it and get one of my buddies to come along. I'm guessing it's a scramble, best-ball?

Yeah, it's a best-ball format. So that's the only downside really that I see. I've had a number of people tell me its not worth it since its best-ball and you don't actually get to play your own ball the whole time. But really, who cares that much that they'd pass up an opportunity to play Oakmont?

Send me a pm if you want to talk some more about it.

You play your own ball in a best-ball. If it's a scramble, you don't.

I'd play, but not in a scramble.
